Before each school year begins, Family Care Network hosts a back-to-school celebration where our children, youth and families receive school supplies that will give them a productive head start. We have a variety of age groups from Kindergarten through grade 12 that are in need of new backpacks and age/grade appropriate supplies. For many clients we serve, making ends meet can be a challenge. This Back to School event is a crucial resource for their educational futures.
You can help us prepare our clients for this school year by donating items from the school supply list below. You can drop them off in the bin outside of our office or bring them in any time before July 4 th. Our headquarters are located at 1255 Kendall Road, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401. Please contact the volunteer coordinator, Christina, to set up a pick up time if you are unable to drop off. Family Care Network is hoping to receive enough school supplies to give backpacks stuffed with items to over 100 students. We are also looking for a few volunteers for this back-to-school event at the Avila Valley Barn to help us organize and distribute supplies. The Family Care Network, Inc. (FCNI) is a private, nonprofit children and families services provider. Established in 1987 for the purpose of creating family-based treatment programs as an alternative to group home or institutional care for children and youth, the agency now operates multiple, accredited programs designed to strengthen and preserve families and individuals. In the agency's 34 year history, we have grown to serve over 2,000 children, youth and families annually in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties. FCNI values intergrity, accountability, program fidelity and outcome-based services, and is accredited by the California Alliance of Child and Family Services. At the Family Care Network, we have many opportunities for individuals, businesses and organizations to partner with us to help accomplish our mission. Partnership opportunities include: becoming a foster parent, career mentor, intern, event volunteer, or event sponsor for one of FCNI's annual fundraising events: Be the Difference, Benefit for Kids and Give Joy for the holidays.
