About

We are seeking volunteers to participate in NVNA's Legacy Chat Program, an initiative in which our patients and potential patients have the opportunity to "tell their stories" and have them recorded for posterity.

Story tellers engage in a forty five minute conversation with a partner, sometimes a family member and sometimes an NVNA volunteer. Story tellers usually recount recollections from childhood through adult life including important family relationships and friendships, educational and career highlights, key life milestones, stories of their children and grandchildren and their life's most cherished and challenging moments.

Story tellers will receive a CD recording of their conversation within 10 days of their conversation. Volunteers will learn how to operate high quality recording equipment and will master effective interviewing techniques. Story tellers and volunteers have found the Legacy Chat experience to be very fulfilling and enjoyable and story tellers' families are delighted to have these recordings as part of their family's histories and archives.
