New Beginning Hospice cares for patients with life limiting illnesses, most of whom have the best stories of their lives that they'd love to share with others. Our patients are located in Glendale, Sun City, Surprise, Glendale, Mesa and Phoenix. It is possible to place a volunteer nearby to a patient for convenience, but volunteers will still need a car and auto insurance. We are mandated by Medicare to treat volunteers as employees, so volunteers are held to the same standard of CPR certification and fingerprint card. However, we will provide those if volunteers don't already have them. Also, unlike employees, volunteers can make their own schedule and we are very flexible. Any amount of time a volunteer can give is much appreciated by the staff and patients of New Beginning Hospice so, come join our family!

Activities with patients can include:

- sharing life stories

- reading

- writing memoirs

- running errands

- light cleaning

- light cooking

- playing games

- arts & crafts

- playing music

The possibilities are endless, and its all up to the volunteers.
