Job Title: Patient Support Volunteer
Purpose of Position: Hospice is a unique benefit. It is a specialized type of care to help you, and your loved one, take control of your life and your disease. Kindred Hospice believes that every moment matters. One way we achieve this is through our volunteer program. Volunteers help provide important services to our patients.
Some typical responsibilities and duties are:
- Engage in patient hobbies
- Being a comforting and supportive presence
- Running errands
- Listen to patients concerns
Qualifications: Volunteers must be positive, honest, and out going
Commitment: At Kindred Hospice, you will be given the choice of how much time you want to volunteer and how you share your talents. Volunteers are never asked to do anything they are not comfortable doing.
Training: There is training provided. Also, Manager of Volunteer Services is available for questions and assistance when needed. All volunteers must be at least 18 years of age to visit our patients and they must be willing to submit to a TB testing, drug testing, and criminal background check.
Benefits: Volunteering makes a big difference. You meet new people, gain new skills, and add a whole new experience to your life.
