Key Responsibilities
The Babies Need Boxes Volunteer Director will be responsible for supporting the Babies Need Boxes Program, in the following ways:
Financial Reporting: Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly and annual financial statements; oversee all financial reporting materials for all donor reports, project/program and grants accounting.
Budget Development : Oversee and lead annual budget planning processing in conjunction with the Executive Director; administer and review all financial plan and budgets; monitor progress and changes; keep leadership abreast of financial status.
Policy Development: Update and implement all necessary business policies and accounting practices; improve finance policy and procedure manual; Implement a contract management/reporting system; insuring that contract billing and collection schedule is adhered to and maintained
Experience and qualifications:
- Minimum of BA, ideally with a CPA related degree
- The ideal candidate has experience of final responsibility for the quality and content of all financial data, reporting and audit coordination for either a division or significant program area, and preferable overseen a human resources function previously;
- Experience in grassroots organizing and leadership development;
- A demonstrated commitment to the mission, values and goals of Babies Need Boxes;
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Suite) and being comfortable acquiring new skills;
- Exceptional time management, organization and prioritization skills;
- Experience in facilitation and building consensus;
- Flexibility in setting priorities and managing multiple projects;
- Exceptional communication skills;
- Entrepreneurial spirit;
- · High ethical professional standards
- · A flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings and weekends, and to travel periodically nationally
- · Dedication to working closely in a community based organization with diverse staff, volunteers and community members.

Mission Statement
Babies Need Boxes equips families with the tangible resources required for a successful transition to parenthood. We provide families with safe sleep education, a safe sleep environment, newborn care essentials to promote self-sufficiency and interactive items to foster positive parent-child interaction.
Description
In 2015, Babies Need Boxes began delivering Finnish Style Baby Boxes to families. Each family is presented with a Baby Box, complete with waterproof mattress and cotton sheet. Inside each box are essential resources needed to care for a newborn: Diapers, Wipes, Toy, Books and a number of other items.
Our program is unique because it also lines up educational resources related to positive parenting, brain development and newborn care in a innovative platform called Baby Box University.
