LSI’s Global Greens agricultural programs coordinate land access, production education and business development training for refugees in the Des Moines metro who want to reconnect with the land. We help connect refugee families to small garden plots near their homes. Other refugees are interested in small business farming to supplement their income long-term.
Global Greens positions are seasonal, May-October, during market season.
Position Summary:
Drivers are needed to help transport produce from the Global Greens Farm in West Des Moines to the farmers’ market located at Lutheran Services’ office. Volunteers will help load produce into LSI vans and bring the produce to market. If you’d like to use your personal van or truck that is welcome as well!
Time Commitment:
Saturdays starting 8/5/2017 until 10/28/2017 from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
