Race

Race for the Cure is a wonderful event for all ages, making it possible for just about anyone - individuals, student groups, families, companies - to participate and make a difference in the lives of families in our local community. On Race Day 2016, we welcomed over 10,000 participants.

Susan G. Komen Miami/Ft. Lauderdale’s 22 nd Race for the Cure will be hosted on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Bayfront Park.

There are various ways in which Committee Members may participate on Race Day, please see list of job tasks listed below. Committee Members are driving force behind the success of Race, thus they are required to work on Race day as well as attend 4-5 pre-Race planning meetings.

Your help will allow us to continue our mission to save lives and end breast cancer forever.

VISION: Worl without breast cancer

HISTORY: Susan G. Komen Miami/Ft. Lauderdale was founded in 1999 by a group of motivated and hardworking volunteers. That same passion, carried on throughout the years by thousands of volunteers and dedicated board and staff members, has sustained Komen Miami/Ft. Lauderdale and enabled us to invest more than $14 million in local breast health and breast cancer awareness projects in our service area. Our Affiliate serves over six million people in three counties in the southernmost point of Florida. Currently, our Affiliate funds 9 local grantees that provide breast health education, breast cancer screening and treatment programs for uninsured, medically underserved women and men in Broward, Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties.
