Blessings, Inc is looking for volunteers that will assist with a variety of responsibilities. These responsibilities will be carried out virtually for the most part. However, there will be periodic meetings with the Executive Director or the Volunteer Coordinator to discuss progress and future projects. This team will be responsible for the following:

Website Maintenance

We will be changing the company we use for our website and are looking for a volunteer to assist with this process which will include the following.

Responsibilities include:

  • Becoming acclimated with the chosen website template
  • Transferring information from the current website to the new website
  • Creating new pages as needed
  • Write, edit and proofread site content
  • Manage site promotions
  • Assists with developing a style guide and editorial process
  • Write quarterly newsletter that is posted to the website

Social Media Specialist

We are looking for a Social Media Specialist to assist us with attracting and interacting with specific virtual communities and users.

Responsibilities include:

  • Set up and optimize company pages within each platform to increase the visibility of company’s social content
  • Posting updates and events on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages
  • Locating articles and relevant information for posting that may be of interest to our followers

Administrative Duties

Responsibilities include:

  • Research - Periodically, we need research done on various topics.
  • General administrative duties - making calls, responding to emails and website inquiries

Mission Statement

Blessings, Inc. offers transformative programming to the youth of Philadelphia, designed to encourage, enlighten and instill in them the knowledge that there are no limits to what they can achieve.

Description

Blessings, Inc is a nonprofit organization that serves the youth of Philadelphia and we offer two programs. First, the Growing Achievers Program is open to children ages 5 - 12 and is held every Saturday. The goal is to provide activities that will expose the children to a variety of experiences that will expand their horizons. The program includes activities such as: Bible lessons, arts & crafts, games, movies, trips (cultural and recreational), workshops and guest speakers. Metamorphosis is our second program and is designed for teens that are currently in the foster care system or have been identified as at-risk. We provide a series of workshops (four weeks each in length) that are designed to teach various life skills. Studies show that due to the overwhelming number of children and teens that need to be served within the foster care system, many teens age out without the necessary skills to make it on their own. Skills such as completing a job application, going on a job interview, opening a bank account, securing housing etc. are skills that are needed by many. We are looking for caring individuals to join our team of volunteers that serve all of our wonderful children.
