ORGANIZATION: THE HOUSE OF SEVEN GABLES SETTLEMENT ASSOCIATION

Overview:

To fulfill the Museum’s mission and goals, the Settlement Partnership volunteer or staff member will assist primarily with our Settlement Meetings and Education Programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Attend and assist with Settlement meetings;

  • Participate in community outreach initiatives by attending monthly Latino Leadership meetings;

  • Assist with general office tasks;

  • Assist with Adult ESL and Citizenship programs;

  • Assist with special events and other programs;

  • Arrive at work on time and work the entire agreed-upon shift;

    Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills;

  • English/Spanish bilingual skills, or knowledge of English and another language highly desirable

  • Must have the ability to deal effectively and courteously with the public and other staff members;

  • Be community focused;

  • Able to accept supervision, work both independently and in a group, and be flexible to changing situations;

  • Have a basic knowledge of historic Salem;

  • Dress according to Gables dress code for guides and other professional staff.
