The 2nd annual RUN INSPIRED 10K Run/Walk for Operation Warm will take place on October 15th, 2017 at the Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library, located in Winterthur, Delaware.
The RUN INSPIRED 10K Run/Walk at Winterthur will benefit and support Operation Warm’s mission to provide brand-new coats to children living in poverty, specifically in the Delaware region.
We need volunteers to assist on race day in all areas to ensure an organized and successful event for all! Volunteers will receive preferred parking, coffee and pastries, and a complimentary t-shirt.

Bib Pick-Up & Registration: 7:30am
Race Start: 9:30am
Finishers Party: 10:15am - 1:00pm
Here are the volunteer areas:
Course Monitor (7:30am-11:30am) (25)
Responsible for providing direction to runners at key intersections along the course to ensure that everyone stays on the correct route.
Registration & Bib Pick-Up (7:00am-9:30am) (12)
Responsible for providing assigned bibs to pre-registered runners and accepting new registrations on race morning. This entails assisting runners to fill out registration forms and assigning bibs to newly registered runners.
T-shirt Distribution (7:30am-9:45am) (6)
Responsible for handing out official race t-shirts to all pre-registrants.
Gear Check (7:30am-12:30pm) (6)
Responsible for collecting and storing participant belongings during the race until picked up. Each 10K participant receives a gear check slip which will be attached to their belongings.
Start/Finish Area (9:00am -11:00am) (4)
Responsible for providing general assistance where needed. Duties may include providing runner instruction, providing crowd control or assisting pedestrians/spectators where needed, moving barricades, cones, or other equipment, etc...
Nurse Volunteers (7:30am-11:30am) (2)
Need two nurses to staff our medical tent for the race - able to provide bandaids, vaseline, ice packs, and some cold water/Gatorade for those with minor medical needs.
Food Distribution (9:00am-11:30am) (8)
Responsible for handing out various post-race food/beverage items (goodie bags) to runners.
Medal Distribution (9:00am-11:30am) (8)
Responsible for handing out medals to all finishers after they cross the finish line.
Water Distribution (9:00am-11:30am) (5)
Responsible for handing out water bottles to all finishers after they cross the finish line.
Water Station #1 (8:00am-11:30am) (8)
Responsible for pouring and handing out water at one of the aid stations on course. Volunteers must also clean up cups and any other trash at the station at the conclusion of the race (MUST SIGN UP AS TEAM OR ORGANIZATION).
Water Station #2 (8:00am-11:30am) (8)
Responsible for pouring and handing out water at one of the aid stations on course. Volunteers must also clean up cups and any other trash at the station at the conclusion of the race (MUST SIGN UP AS TEAM OR ORGANIZATION).
Water Station #3 (8:00am-11:30am) (8)

Water Station #4 (8:00am-11:30am) (8)

Face Painter (9:30am - 12:30pm) (4)
Talented artists needed to face paint and make a child's day!
Kid's Activity Area (9:30am - 12:30pm) (6)
Responsible for coordinating and conducting kid's activities (activities TBD).
FLEXIBLE
Able to stand in at whatever position is needed on race day.
