HAWC (Healing Abuse Working for Change) is currently actively recruiting Hotline volunteers to support our agency's important work. HAWC has provided comprehensive domestic violence prevention services to 23 cities and towns across Massachusetts' North Shore since 1978. We offer a variety of domestic violence programming, including our 24-hour hotline.
Often the first point of contact for survivors who are reaching out to HAWC, our hotline is incredibly important to our ability to provide support to domestic violence survivors. The volunteers who answer the hotline are there to lend a compassionate ear to someone who may be experiencing domestic violence and is either looking to confirm that what they are experiencing is abuse or to find resources to help them live a healthier life.
Volunteers will be required to participate in a 25-hour training, which will well-prepare them to be effective in this role.
Training dates:Participants must attend all training sessions in order to be DV certified to volunteer. If you have conflicts with the scheduled training dates, please contact me so we can arrange training for you.Volunteer Training
