ChickTech is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to retaining women in the technology workforce and increasing the number of women and girls pursuing technology based careers. We address retention, camaraderie in our community, and raise necessary funding through our ChickTech Career Events and ACT-W Conferences.

Our events and ACT-W conferences run on the energy of our volunteers who care about empowering women in technology. The ACT-W Boston Conference is a happy hour and an annual one-day action-packed event where talented women can build skills, grow their community, and accelerate their career path by connecting with companies that truly fit them best. The conference includes speaking sessions, hands-on workshops, one-on-one coaching sessions, and more.

As a committee member, you’ll be a vital part of the ChickTech Leadership Team and help to create a welcoming and outstanding conference experience for about 200 participants from the Boston Area. The planning experience is a unique opportunity to participate in the conference activities. ACT-W Boston Planning Committee Members are responsible for various conference duties such as sponsorship outreach, conference and speaker schedule development, event management, food and beverage planning, on-site logistics, and more.

What is expected of me?

As an ACT-W Planning Committee Member, you’ll be expected to be available for the entire conference planning up until the conference on August 25th - 26th, 2017. The Sponsorship Manager does the following:

  • Helps find 15- 20 cash and in-kind sponsors
  • Helps on the day of the event with sponsor set up
  • Ensure sponsors have everything they need on the DOE and know where to go
  • Works with Catering team and Marketing team to sync on sponsorships

Requirements & Commitment

  • Must be at least 18
  • 1-3 hours of remote work
  • Being part of the Committee also requires volunteering at the HH and/or Conference (Aug 25 - 26th)
