Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) affects 1 in 7 adults in the United States, around 400,000 people in Minnesota. Unfortunately only around 10% of those know they have kidney problems, and without early diagnosis and treatment many will progress to kidney failure, which requires dialysis or a kidney transplant. Over 2,000 people in Minnesota are currently waiting for a kidney transplant, and more kidney donors are needed.

NKF Minnesota uses community events and health fairs to educate Minnesotans about CKD and organ donation. This opportunity will be held at Rondo Days in St Paul. Volunteers will provide education about CKD and its risk factors, ways to keep your kidneys healthy, and kidney transplant/donation.

Knowledge about kidney disease is appreciated but not required. Training is provided for all volunteers.
