Cat Toy - Love Knot
Polyfill & catnip stuffed cat toy

The Cat Network has been finding fur-ever homes for stray, abandoned and lost cats in the St. Louis area since 1991. One of the things that we sell as a fundraiser is a "love knot" toy. It is a slender fabric tube that is stuffed with polyfill and catnip. We then whip-stitch the small opening closed and tie them into a knot.

Cats really love them and we sell a lot of them!

But we need HELP !

There is no "fancy" sewing ability (just a whip-stitch) or special skills needed -- just the ability to alternate stuffing with small amounts of dried catnip, whip stitch about 5-10 stitches and tie a knot!

If you would be interested in helping us complete the toys -- we will provide you with the pre-sewn tubes, polyfill and dried cat nip -- and give you a quick run through on how to assemble them. (And if you need a needle & thread -- we've got that too !)

And this volunteer work is done whereever you are -- no need to go any place! This is an easy "while you watch TV" volunteer craft project!

Let us know if you would consider helping us!

Mission Statement

The Cat Network is an all volunteer, no-kill, cat rescue organization in the greater St. Louis area. We are a non-profit, 501-c-3 organization. We do not have a shelter, so we care for our foster cats in our homes. We are currently caring for over 100 permanent foster cats. We accept (rescue) cats or kittens who we can hopefully re-home. Generally we prefer to rescue cats/kittens from local animal control shelters, but will occasionally accept owner turn-ins.

Description

After rescue, our cats/kittens are quarantined for at least 14 days to assure that they are disease free. This also gives us time to provide the necessary vet care. All newly rescued cats/kittens are taken to one of our affiliated vet offices for a complete check-up. They will be given age-appropriate vaccinations, a microchip, and will be combo tested for feline leukemia/feline aids. If old enough, the cat/kitten will be altered. Our cats/kittens are also treated for intestinal and external parasites.

All of our cats/kittens live in caring foster homes. Our 'adoptable' foster cats/kittens participate in regularly scheduled adoption events at local PetSmart and Petco stores.
