Do you have a special skill or talent that could benefit the families of Sojourner Center that you wish to share? We are looking for individuals or groups to donate their time and provide a wide range of classes and/or workshops that can support our residents. Examples of these classes can be:

  • Household Management such as:
    • Home Organization
    • Basic Sewing and clothing repair/re-purposing
    • Couponing
    • Meal Planning/ Nutrition
    • Career Planning such as:
      • Interviewing
      • Professional Writing
      • Public Speaking
      • Wardrobe Building/ Professional Styling

Other Important Skills such as:

* Basic Car Care and Repair

* Time Management

* Basic 1st Aid

* Comparison Shopping and Money Negotiation

This can be a flexible schedule based on your schedule. Volunteers are required to complete an orientation and background checks.

Description

Domestic Violence Shelter

We are seeking Volunteers to support us in various areas of our shelter by donating their time and talents. We recognize the impact of domestic violence cannot be overcome without community collaboration and therefore we proudly operate a "shelter the community built". Please visit our website or sign up for a tour to learn more about our programs, the families we serve, and the mission we have committed to. Domestic violence affects every person in our society and you can do something to help those in need.
