ORGANIZATION: HarmonyCares Hospice-Grand Rapids

Are you looking for something that will change your life? Are you tired of living without purpose?

Grace Hospice is seeking people who desire to make a difference!

This opportunity is life changing. Life changing for the hospice patient and their families, but also for the volunteer.

Grace Hospice ’s team knows the benefits of caring for hospice patients. We are honored to be a part of this final journey, building relationships, and assisting with carrying the load.

If you want to be a part of this experience, I urge you to call Grace Hospice today and ask about the training program.

This is a long term commitment, requiring at least one year duration. We require once a relationship begins that the volunteer see it through the entire journey. Grace Hospice requires all volunteers to complete a 10 hour training, background check, fingerprints, TB Step 1 & 11 and supervisory visits and reviews.

For more information call Grace today at 616.432.2050 for an interview.

Mission Statement

For each employee to treat every patient as their own treasured loved one, providing care that affords a quality of life that outweighs quantity of days, and supports caregivers as their hearts find healing.

Description

Hospice is a philosophy of caring for patients whose medical conditions are not responding to treatment or for those patients who choose not to seek aggressive medical care at the end stage of life. It is a program for patients who are considered terminal and are expected to live six months or less if the disease follows its natural course, although many patients outlive this time frame. The hospice philosophy focuses on comfort care not curative care. The goal of hospice care is for the patient to remain as comfortable and pain-free as possible in their own home or the home of a loved one through the end of life. Hospice care can also be provided in a long-term care facility or an assisted living facility
