The BarberQue project aims to raise awareness around the issue of homelessness in Chicago by marrying the functionality of a barbershop with the delicious grub of a barbecue. This annual event provides food, haircuts, and so much more. We believe every person deserves to live with dignity. Because of that, the BarberQue event includes: - a haircut, shave & shampoo - a family-style barbecue meal - a food grab-bag - a toiletry grab-bag - clothing (including shoes, socks and underwear) Access to social service organzations, including: - local shelters - clothing providers - food access/food pantries - employment opportunities - mental health providers - substance abuse assistance WHEN? August 27, 2017 Noon - 4 PM WHERE? Kells Park, in Chicago's Humboldt Park neighborhood (3201 W Chicago Ave.) www.barberque.org https://www.gofundme.com/barberque
