Virginia Cooperative Extension, Arlington County (VCE) offers a unique volunteer opportunity to help at our Youth Financial Simulations; Kids Marketplace for elementary students and Reality Store for middle schoolers. These activities offer a "real world" opportunity for the students to practice money management, budgeting, and choosing spending priorities. The students are assigned a "job" and corresponding "salary" and must proceed through 10 different budget/spending stations.
The Youth Financial Simulations are offered year round during the school year and at local summer day camps. Each event lasts from 1 to 2 hours in length. No training or long term volunteer commitments required, volunteers are required to pre-register. Contact Meggan Orenstein mkco214@vt.edu or 703 228 6421
