Open Door Crisis Assistance believes everyone can be successful with the right support and resources to help weather life's storms. Open Door provides direct help to those in immediate need of food, housing, child care or job assistance, and refers to community resources that work to make sure individuals and families have what they need to be economically self-sufficient in our community.
Open Door needs a volunteer or two during business hours to assist with processing documents, answering telephones, welcoming clients and providing general administrative support on a regular basis.
Volunteers are welcome to work anywhere from 2-15 hours per week.
Give someone the support needed to keep our community healthy, happy, productive, and vibrant. Volunteer with Open Door today and you'll make lasting changes tomorrow.

Mission Statement
SAL Family and Community Services strengthens children, families, and individuals to build and enhance thriving communities.
Description
SAL Family and Community Services believes every child can thrive if given the chance to learn and grow in high-quality early care and education, and we believe every family can be successful with the right support and resources. We know early care and education is an economic driver that helps more parents go to work and school, and puts more dollars back into the community through higher high school graduation rates, higher income for those children when they become adults, and more stable families. SALFCS manages Open Door - a unique crisis assistance program that helps individuals and families meet immediate needs such as food, shelter, clothing, and transportation; two child care resource and referral programs serving 16 counties in Illinois, that help parents find high-quality care and professionals continue their early childhood development education, and Skip-a-Long Child Development Services - which has expanded to six early care and education centers in Iowa and Illinois that works with nearly 800 children ages six weeks to 12 years old every day. Because of you, children in the Quad Cities will go to school prepared for success. Because of you, parents will go to work and school knowing their children have what they need to be safe, loved, and educated. Because of you, our community will thrive.
