Position Overview
The Digital Content Creator and Editor creates an engaging web presence to represent Asante Africa Foundation online. Digital editors are responsible for taking consumer-targeted web content from concept to publication by overseeing a diverse team of staff and freelance contributors. The job is to maintain quality and consistency across media types and web platforms and to ultimately drive increased traffic and brand visibility over time.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with staff to brainstorm content topics
* Delegate assignments to in-house team members and freelancers
* Supervise contributors to ensure deadlines are met
* Check all pieces for accuracy and cohesiveness
* Edit content using appropriate software
* Improve content by adding music, sound, film, or artwork
* Ensure all published content meets quality standards
* Monitor and report on web presence and traffic
* Keep track of developments in digital technology
Qualifications
* A bachelor’s degree in digital editing, video production, or a related field
* Proven work experience as a digital editor is a plus
* Digital editing skills with an exceptional portfolio of published work
* Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects or Final Cut Pro)
* Familiarity with special effects, 3D and compositing
* Attention to detail
* A creative mind
* An interest in nonprofit work

Description
We form partnerships with African communities and work with passionate local program managers who are deeply committed to creating change in their African villages. We envision African communities and families in which children have the opportunity to receive QUALITY education to define their futures. Generous contributions from Asante Africa Foundation donors bring these dreams to life.
Local villagers define their needs for achieving quality education, through infrastructures for all children attending school (such as construction of schools and sanitation facilities, serving a daily meal), providing teaching resources and educational materials, and funding scholarships / sponsorship for highly motivated and academically gifted children.
Asante is the Swahili word for thank you. We are thankful to be active members of the communities we serve and we are grateful to our donors who fund projects that bring opportunity, choice and possibility to African villages.
