Hi!
SWRISE is a Robotics non-profit for kids! This summer we will be hosting 6 different robotics competitions at the San Diego County Fair! All dates and positions are listed on SWRiSE.org under the Summer of Robotics tab or http://www.southwestrobotics.org/sor17-volunteers.html
We will pay for your entrance into the fair on the day you choose to volunteer. Also, we will be giving each volunteer 2 additional tickets at the end of the shift so they may come back to visit the fair on an additional day! Plus awesome volunteer shirts!

Mission Statement
SWRiSE believes that by giving more children opportunities to explore science, technology, and engineering through a fun and challenging avenue, that we are opening more doors for them as well as strengthening the future workforce.
Description
We are a 501(c)3 organization with its ultimate purpose being to provide avenues for students, teachers, and communities as a whole to incorporate science and especially robotics into their lives. We are particularly interested in providing opportunities to under-served and low-income communities where students have little opportunities to learn about robotics.
We organize robotics events throughout Southern California, sponsor a competitive Botball team, and hold Saturday workshops at our SWRiSE ClubHouse . Other programs we plan to build up include RiSE Ambassadors (student mentors), the ECR Alliance Project, RiSE E v e n t s (a Volunteer/Event Management System), and week-long children’s camps.
