3D Modeling and texturing Aerospace Entertainment And STEAM Education

VPACC, Virtual Public Aerospace Career Concept, is looking for help with its 3D modeling project.

Volunteers need to be capable of modeling in 3D Max and animating models for FSX flight sim.

VPACC, Inc., is a Washington DC-based nonprofit (EIN 81-0737685). Our mission is to pioneer an innovative entertainment-centric long-term strategy to engage the public in scientific literacy and STEAM education, through the lens of space exploration, creating fully immersive tactile simulated experiences. VPACC’s strategic goals are to engineer sets of full motion and static spaceflight simulators to operate in unison, allowing us to create excitement and mission architecture that can be shaped into a set of long term informal entertainment and educational programs, ultimately looking to bring these simulators and programs to scale.

Part of this enterprise is the development of the 3D model vehicles that are specific to the programs simulation needs. These model vehicles are designed and developed as realistic representations of possible future technologies. Horizontal take-off single-stage-to-orbit (SSTO’s) vehicles and beyond low earth orbit exploration.

VPACC is looking for help with some modeling details and texturing allowing us to finish our model vehicle for Microsoft flight simulator X.This model would be the cornerstone of VPACC’s simulation core.

The models being developed include a number of detailed parts, models include:

* Model Aircraft, runway to orbit lifting body.

* Model space vehicle, in orbit and beyond LEO capable vehicle.

* Model simulators, 3D models representing flight simulators and static simulators.

* Model cockpit, 3D modeling the simulated cockpit.

Design and direction will be driven by VPACC admin and volunteer experts with real world experience in aerospace industry, both aviation and space.

Time Commitment

VPACC requires the task be complete within one month from agreed start time.

Mission Statement

We are pioneering an innovative entertainment-centric, long-term strategy to engage the public in scientific literacy and the STEAM subjects.

Description

This is a passionate dynamic team, who understand the world is changing around us, some times faster than we might like. We understand the nuances and shifting landscapes of education, the power and reach of entertainment and how these two elements are on a convergent course that will change what we think we know about learning and how we educate. VPACC is a fun and relevant informal learning strategy using entertainment technology to inspire and engage the next generation in science and technology. It’s a program rooted in entertainment, through the lens of exploration and adventure, allowing players to develop virtual aerospace careers. It’s an integrated program that allows players to work in teams, at home and also in real simulators located in population centers around the country. Engineering Dreams of tomorrow, our abilities to shape the emotional landscape and pathways of our children define how we inspire, and how they learn.
