Purpose:
The American Red Cross Disaster Cycle Services launched the Home Fire Preparedness Campaign in October 2014. Its goal is to reduce the rate of deaths and injuries due to home fires by 25% over 5 years. Its strategy includes participating in a community coalition that targets neighborhoods at risk for home fires; installs and tests smoke alarms; and provides fire safety and disaster preparedness education/planning. This position will coordinate all aspects of Home Fire Preparedness program planning and implementation for the East Hawaii Community and build partnerships with groups and organizations that have similar goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- As part of the leadership team, manage the planning, implementation and evaluation of Home Fire Preparedness Campaign events.
- Coordinate all activities in advance of, and on the day of the event.
- Work with Fire Departments and all other coalition partners to carry out planning, implementation and evaluation.
- Follow all guidelines, training, safety and documentation requiremenets for this task.
- Provides reporting and evaluation feedback for continuous improvemenet purposes.
- Recognize and thank partners.
- Sustain local coalitions for additional HFPC events.
- Recognize and thank volunteers.
