Code Platoon is a non-profit 'coding bootcamp' for veterans and military spouses. We run a 14 week, immersive in-person program where we train our students to become professional software developers.
We have had great success, through generous scholarships (accepted students are guaranteed $10,000 scholarships) and corporate partners (most of our students get placed in paid apprenticeships), in getting many veterans and military spouses, many with little or no college education, into the high-paying field of software development.
However, we struggle to find enough veterans and spouses to apply to our program. We are not looking for any specific degree or background, just a deep desire to learn to code.
That's where you come in. Many potential candidates have already started their own journey to coding by using independent resources like Code Academy, Free Code Camp and others. And these veterans often list their accomplishments using these resources, on LinkedIn and elsewhere.
We need help finding these folks, and letting them know about our scholarships and great job outcomes.
