Rural Stearns Faith in Action provides services to seniors to help them live independently at home as long as possible. We help fill the gaps by providing professional and volunteer support with basic needs. Our volunteer program provides transportation, home making, respite care, friendly visitors, and simple home repairs.
Our home making volunteers are paired with a client (or as many clients as they wish to take on) and from there they can work together to come up with a schedule that works for both. Typically our clients wish to see home making volunteers about every other week, but sometimes a weekly visit is needed or once a month might be enough. Homemaking volunteers do light housework such as sweeping, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, dishes, etc.
Right now we have a client who is looking for short term homemaking services while they recover from surgery. This is a GREAT opportunity for anyone who is thinking this might be a good fit, but wants to try it out for the summer.

Our program volunteers serve seniors and people with difficult life situations living in the rural communities of Stearns County with the ultimate goal of keeping people in their homes as long as possible. We do this through offering transportation, homemaking, chore services, home modification/repair, friendly visiting, respite care, and the list goes on.
