Our Clothing and Hygiene Bank is open weekly on Wednesdays from 12:00 - 4:00. The purpose of the United Methodist Children’s Services of Wisconsin, Inc. Clothing Bank is to provide free, clean, usable clothing, and hygiene items in a respectful, dignified manner to individuals expressing need. On average, we serve 35+ families each week in the Clothing Bank and it is a high traffic location.

All items in our Clothing Bank are donated from individuals, churches, and organizations in the city, and need to be weighed, sorted, washed, dried, and hung up before they can go out to the public. A shift in the Clothing Bank includes interacting with the public, handling an intake process, checking out items, as well as handling laundry and sorting of items.

This volunteer position requires someone who is willing to deal with the public, who can handle sometimes stressful situations with kindness and dignity, has great communication skills, an open mind, be able to use Excel, be able to work well with other volunteers, and who can be on their feet for 4 hours. This oppurtunity is flexible - you can commit to one, or as many Wednesdays as you are availalbe!

Currently we need volunteers who can commit to Wednesdays in July and August (though you are welcome to stay on for as long as you like!), with training beginning in June. This is a great position for individuals, youth groups (16-18 years, with adult supervision), families and small groups who are looking for a summer volunteer position.
