Mission Statement
WCCA is a private non-profit corporation and the designated Community Action Agency serving residents of Wright County. Our mission is working in partnership with the community to empower residents to improve their physical, social and economic well-being. We offer a variety of services designed to help our clients meet basic needs and build better futures. Explore our programs below to see what we’re doing in Wright County and what we can do for you.
Description
WCCA operates the only county-wide food shelf in Wright County from the Family Service Center in Waverly.
In addition to addressing the immediate emergency need for food, WCCA assists residents to access other more long term services that will help to assure the family has adequate resources in the future to provide for nutrition and other basic needs. Routinely, a self declaration of income and the nature of the family emergency are requested at the time of service.
At the food shelf, we have launched new food security programs that are additional efforts towards hunger relief in the community. The Backpack Food Program, Emergency Food Box Network and Mobile Food Shelf are all areas seeking volunteers.
