ORGANIZATION: Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters

The AmeriCorps VISTA program, which is part of the Corporation for National and Community Service, engages AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) members to make a 12-month commitment to helping poverty-fighting organizations within the community. Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters is recruiting for VISTA members to serve in a development position.

Projects will include utilizing analytics to look at current organization marketing strategies, researching effective new strategies, and developing a best practice system for future sustainability of effectiveness, cohesiveness, and successful impact; putting the new marketing system into use by developing marketing materials that align with the system and the marketing brand.

In return for their year of service, VISTA members receive a modest living allowance, health coverage, sick and personal days, job experience, and training. In addition, upon completing the 12-month commitment, VISTA members can choose from a $1,500 cash stipend or $5,550 voucher to be used to repay qualified student loans. The service year is also a great way to learn new skills and gain job experience.
