HackerNest is looking for 2-3 volunteer Organizers, and event day volunteers to help run our Tech Socials in Austin!
If you're passionate about tech, enjoy working with a cool team and want to make a difference, we want to hear from you!
Our tech socials run monthly on a Wednesday night. They are casual, relaxed fun events with the local tech community.
Organizers are responsible for:
helping find venues for events and coordinating venue logistics
promoting events to the community through event emails
Organizing volunteers prior to and on the day
Organizing the beverages and/or snacks for the events
We are very well connected in the tech industry and our organizers find this is a great way to make contact with potential employers. Full training and support will be provided for Organizers.
We will also provide letters of reference and recommendations for suitable candidates.
Check out http://about.hackernest.com/volunteer/ and apply, or email info@hackernest.com!

Mission Statement
Wherever technology booms, prosperity follows. Description
A Canadian federally incorporated nonprofit corporation since 2012, we run two superconnectors - Community centric Tech Social events that bring technologists from all walks of life together to find friends, get advice, and check out opportunities, and Elite Meets, the small, invite-only dinners hosted by our sponsors to focus on learning and thought leadership specific to technology roles.
Our special events rally around causes and innovation: CourtHack for access to justice, Fishackathon for oceans preservation & sustainable fisheries, et al. Expos and Job Fairs bring technologists and the companies, NGOs and governments looking to hire them together.
We have been afforded Special Consultative status to the United Nations Economic and Social Council. We are in the City of Toronto’s economic and technology roundtable and was part of the White House's Opportunity Project delivering solutions empowering Americans to build tools to improve community access and opportunity using federal/local open data. The U.S. Department of State’s Secretary’s Office of Global Partnerships also named HackerNest as Managing Partner for Fishackathon 2017-18, a global hackathon series in dozens of cities around the world.
