On Saturday June 24th the Delaware Avenue branch library is hosting its Summer Reading Kick Off Party. Come volunteer to help the local kids get excited and ready for a fun filled summer of reading and library activities! The theme is math games, and volunteers will help run dominoes, dice, and estimation games. There will also be an ice cream sundae bar! Volunteers will also be needed to help set up and take down the event. Come help ring in summer!

The Albany Public Library consists of 7 branches in the City School District; Washington, North Albany, Bach, Arbor Hill, Pine Hills, Howe, and Delaware. You can visit the 7 branches for books and DVDs, music and magazines, classes and workshops, computers and Wi-Fi, tutoring and tax assistance, arts activities and technology programs, study spaces and meeting rooms, movie showings and musical performances, book clubs and author talks, and so much more. Volunteering is vital to the health of the library and the community by providing much needed support to the youth and adults who rely on library services. Volunteers gain the skills and knowledge to help with their professional career and personal life. Student volunteers gain community service credit and valuable job experience.
