Great Lakes Caring Hospice, a leading care provider in the Midwest, is looking for compassionate teen volunteers willing to donate their time to provide exceptional end-of-life care to local hospice patients. This opportunity is open for teen volunteers between the ages of 14-16 yrs old in groups of 2 or 3 or a parent/teen groups to work together at different facilities providing companionship to hospice patients.
Great Lakes Caring Hospice is looking for Teen Companion Volunteers who will visit our patients in local nursing facilities. The Teen Companion Volunteer will provide companionship, play cards/games, watch TV, take the patient outside for fresh air, read to patient, play music, ect. There is no physical care involved.
Volunteer schedules/time commitments vary depending on your schedule. Hours are very flexible and can be completed during evenings or weekends. This volunteer program is designed to help teen volunteers gain community service hours for school while bringing a great joy to our patients and families.
