Reach & Rise(r) is a national YMCA program designed to build a better future for youth by helping them reach their full potential through the support of caring adults. Reach & Rise is a therapeutic mentoring program that provides an initial comprehensive 15-hour mentor training, a curriculum focused on building positive, consistent, and supportive relationships, an established protocol for matching mentors and mentees, weekly group meetings lasting for the duration of 8-16 weeks, the creation of personalized growth plans for youth and families which are assessed on a regular basis, ongoing mentor/mentee support (including structured group activities and support groups), and appropriate processes for closure of match relationships.

Description

Reach & Rise is a national YMCA program designed to build a better future for youth by helping them reach their full potential through the support of caring adults. Reach & Rise supports youth ages 6 to 17 who lack role models and are in communities challenged by poverty, crime and single-parent households, among other social issues. We are looking for volunteers who want to make a difference through intentional therapeutic mentoring with the ongoing support of the Reach and Rise Director at the Northwest Family YMCA.
