Sound like something you're interested in? The Northside Open Door Learning Center is looking for a Volunteer Classroom Assistant for the ESL Pre-Beginning class on Tuesdays from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
This is a small class (7-10 students) with immigrants and refugees that need to learn the basic building blocks of literacy. You will assist the lead teacher by helping students keep up with the classroom activities, working 1-on-1 with various students, and leading some of the activities. No previous experience is necessary; training is provided. The only language requirement is the ability to read, write and speak English.
Our students are grateful to our volunteers for helping them learn the fundamentals of the English language. This is a class where you can truly make a difference in someone's life!
