The McMinnville Meals on Wheels program is searching for volunteer drivers to deliver meals to homebound seniors.

During COVID-19, our program is crucial in delivering meals to seniors who are the most at-risk. Our volunteers deliver meals in a safe and contactless manner.

Delivery days are Monday through Thursday. Volunteer hours are 10 am -12 pm, with a minimum of 1 hour day per week. You will need to complete an application packet and pass a background check.

Description

NorthWest Senior & Disability Services (NWSDS) is a local intergovernmental agency that was created in 1982. Designated as the Area Agency on Aging for Clatsop, Marion, Polk, Tillamook and Yamhill Counties. NWSDS is responsible for planning, developing, coordinating and arranging services for seniors and people with disabilities in these five counties.

Funds for the operation of NWSDS and its programs come from the federal and state government, as well as from community groups and individual donations. NWSDS also relies heavily on dedicated and compassionate volunteers who serve in the following programs:

  • Meals on Wheels
  • Senior Dining Centers
  • Oregon Money Management Program
  • SHIBA (Medicare Counselors)
  • Peer Mentoring Program
  • Advisory Councils

  • Driver's must provide valid driver's license and proof of insurance. All volunteers must successfully complete a full background check (which may include fingerprinting).
