Volunteers needed to help sort, organize, price donations.

Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally to load donations.

Several shifts available either 9-1 or 1-5, depending on current vacancies. We are closed Sunday.

Helping our neighbors and surrounding communities survive financial crisis by providing short-term assistance

Description

Matthews HELP Center provides financial assistance and in-kind donations to our neighbors in crisis. For the 2022-2023 period we helped 4,862 people providing $819,000 in financial and non-financial support to our community in 6 zip codes. We are a non-profit that relies on our community to be our helping hands. We accept donations Monday through Saturday and sales from our thrift boutique, Backporch Treasures, generates income that goes towards helping households in crisis. We have over 175 weekly volunteers that are the heart of our mission.
