Duties:

The Community Educator will represent The Center by engaging the public at community events. They will help educate our communities about issues surrounding sexual assault and gender violence through giving presentations and doing training.


Qualifications:
  • This position requires strong communication skills.
  • Must be comfortable and confident in public speaking.
  • Must possess knowledge and understanding of issues surrounding sexual assault.
  • The Community Educator will have to complete a 38 hour volunteer training at the center.
  • The Community Educator is required to work a minimum of one event per month.

Mission Statement

The Center for Sexual Assault Survivors has been a local 501(c)(3) non-profit organization since 1996. We provide free crisis services to victims of sexual assault (both children and adults), their family members, friends, dating partners or anyone seeking services related to overcoming sexual violence. The Center serves an active role in the reduction and elimination of sexual violence in our community by hosting ongoing education and awareness events, as well as providing training and technical assistance to allied professionals and the community.

Description

The Center for Sexual Assault Survivors provides crisis services, individual and group counseling to sexual assault victims and their families as well as community educational and awareness programs.
