Pickens County Meals on Wheels is excited to announce we will be hosting a 5K Glow Run. The run will start on Hwy 93 Downtown Liberty in front of the McKissick Center and will end at the back of our building on Edgemont Avenue. The race has been listed with Go-GreenEvents.com where participants can pre-register and will receive a t-shirt with their packets if registered by October 15 th . We will also be holding a "Glow Attire Contest" where participants are encouraged to be creative with their Glow attire and we will be awarding a 1 st and 2 nd place winners. Walkers will start the race at 7pm and runners will begin at 7:30. This will be a timed race and awards will be given to 1 st and 2 nd place runners. Post-race snacks will be provided as well as a cash bar along with disco music for a fun finish! We are searching for volunteers that can assist with race set up, packet pick up, direct and cheer runners during race, help with finish line, and post race snacks.

Pickens County Meals on Wheels exists to combat the effects of hunger, loneliness and isolation on those living in Pickens County, and to provide a lifeline through the use of caring volunteers.
Description
Pickens County Meals on Wheels delivers a hot, fresh noontime meal to our elderly neighbors who are struggling to maintain their independence. Meals are prepared at the McKissick Center for Senior Wellness, headquarters for Pickens County Meals on Wheels. Volunteers assist with the preparation of the meals as well as delivery. The meals are collected by volunteer drivers for immediate delivery to seniors who cannot provide a hot meal for themselves and are alone or isolated. Volunteer drivers run 22 routes throughout the county, Monday through Friday, that inclulde the Easley, Dacusville, Pickens, Six Mile, Norris, Central and Liberty areas.
In addition, Pickens County Meals on Wheels operates a senior activity center, Monday-Friday, from 8:30AM-2:30 PM. The center is located at the McKissick Center for Senior Wellness at 349 Edgemont Avenue, Liberty, SC. Volunteers assist with activities at the senior center.
Pickens County Meals on Wheels is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit, charitable organization funded completely by donations from churches, church organizations, individuals, civic groups, businesses, and United Way.
