The Salvation Army will be holding their "Forward Together Congress" June 9-11, 2017 at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates Illinois.
This will be an exciting event with food, music and a chance to learn about how The Salvation Army Does the Most Good in your community!
Volunteers are needed on Saturday, June 10th for the following tasks:
7am-11:30am
** Unload pop-up tents, tent weights, water bottles and ice stations, tables, chairs and other items from the delivery truck to the outdoor parking area.
** Set-up above items in designated spots.
** Monitor the area until after lunch (3-4 volunteers).
3:30pm-6:00pm
** Breakdown of pop-up tents, tent weights, water bottles and ice stations, tables, chairs and other items at the Sears Centre Arena parking lot.
** Load above items to the delivery trucks at the Sears Centre Arena parking lot.
** Basic clean-up of the area.
As these tasks require heavy lifting, the volunteer must be in good physical health and able to lift a minimum of 15 pounds. The position will include bending, lifting, walking and standing for several hours.

This is an excellent volunteer opportunity for a large group interested in volunteering to assist The Salvation Army with their 2017 Congress events.
Volunteers are invited to join us for lunch and/or free tickets to any of the events on Saturday or Sunday, June 9 or 10. Snacks and refreshments will also be provided.
This opportunity is available for volunteers needing to complete community service hours.
