DogFest Walk 'n Roll will engage communities across the country in an event that raises money to support the mission, recruits volunteers to help propel the mission, and educates the public about the life-changing work of Canine Companions for Independence, a non-profit organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilities by providing highly trained assistance dogs and ongoing support to ensure quality partnerships.
The DogFest OKC Planning Committee is seeking a volunteer to help with securing businesses to support the event!
Skill Set: Connected in the community, comfortable making the ask, organized, available to meet with sponsors in the community
Time Commitment: 2-5 hours /week
Responsibilities:
- Work with Committee to identify companies, local businesses, and community organizations with existing connections
- Working with staff partner and DogFest chair to determine a strategy for who will approach which sponsor and amount of ask
- Become familiar with Sponsorship Levels and Benefits
- Meet with potential sponsors to secure sponsorship money, and encourage them to register as a team or individual
- Obtain sponsor logos for staff partner
- Track sponsors and progress towards fundraising goal
- Follow-up with sponsors and write thank you notes
- Arrange for sponsor banners to be hung at event, arrange for proper recognition during event
