The mission of the Fulfillment Fund is to make college a reality for students that come from under resourced communities. For over 25 years our Mentor Program has been pairing students with caring adults for long term mentoring relationships.
The Mentor BBQ is an annual event that brings together mentors, students and their families to celebrate the power of mentorship and to wish our high school graduates the best before they embark on their freshman year at college. This fun filled event will include arts/crafts, games, good food, a baseball game and water balloon toss to help us cool down after a day of fun in the sun!
Volunteer Role:
Event logistics: setting-up, decorations, registration, photo booth, leading games and crafts, serving lunch, filling water balloons, etc.
Volunteers are also welcome to join in on the baseball game and the water balloon toss!
Good volunteer role for individuals, groups and families.
Participating volunteers will receive a Fulfillment Fund T-Shirt and lunch!
*Note: If you are only able to volunteer for part of this event feel free to reach out to me. Chances are you can still participate in this fun day!

Description
The Fulfillment Fund is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making college a reality for students growing up in educationally and economically under-resourced communities. Through classroom instruction, college counseling, mentoring and scholarships, the Fulfillment Fund builds relationships, illuminates opportunities and changes lives.
Whereas only 5 in 10 students in low-income communities who graduate high school go on to college, more than 9 in 10 Fulfillment Fund high school graduates do. And whereas nationally, only 1 in 10 first-generation students from low-income communities who go to college go on to earn a bachelor’s degree, 6 in 10 Fulfillment Fund scholars do.
