Girls in STEM is created and implemented by an all-girl instructional team, and assisted by successful female volunteers. Together we share our own stories of struggle, challenge, and success, and stand as real-world examples of what women can accomplish. Spend a day volunteering at the Keystone Science School with local and visiting 3rd through 8th grade students. Programming includes team-building exercises, hands-on engineering projects and learning to navigate the complicated design process. Additionally, staff and volunteers will lead students in reflection on female motivation and leadership in the STEM fields. Most volunteers are needed the day of (Saturdays 9am-5pm) to work side by side with the teams as they engineer through challenges. Some additional supports can be utilized throughout the year for off site programs, curriculum review and additional volunteer programs. 2017 Scheduled dates: December 2nd (Tech Day), February 2018 (Build-a-thon), April 28, 2018 Momentum and Mothers/Daughters in May 12, 2018.
