The Blue Heron Nature Preserve is looking for volunteers particularly in the North Atlanta / Buckhead area interested in engaging the community through a capital campaign to improve our internal and external trail systems. This is called our Blueway Trail Initiative and by the end of the process we will have about three miles of continuous trails, as well as pathways continuing to Chastain Park and the Path 400 trail. This is important for keeping our neighborhood active and healthy as well as connected to the rest of Atlanta.
The volunteer(s) for this position would be willing to hand out promotional information to surrounding neighborhoods as well as help organize and develop fundraising events such as our Open House in the fall.

The Blue Heron Nature Preserve 501(c)(3) is a nonprofit organization which manages a 30-acre greenspace located in north Atlanta in partnership with the City of Atlanta Parks Department. The Preserve was founded in 2000 with the vision of being a haven for nature in an urban environment. Our mission is to create a personal experience in nature for everyone through engagement, preservation, education, research and advocacy.
