In partnership with We Honor Veterans, Village Hospice is proud to offer the Veteran-to-Veteran Volunteer Program. The goal of the program is to pair recruited Veteran Volunteers with hospice patients who have been identified as Veterans. Once paired with hospice patients who also have military experiece, Veteran Volunteers have the unique ability to relate and connect with each patient, thereby creating an environment where life refiew and healing may occur.

Example of volunteer activities:

* Assist Veterans in reminiscing/telling life stories;
* Educate and assist patients in receiving Veteran benefits;
* Take part in Veterans Day and other recognition events;
* Provide companionship. The camaraderie created between Veterans hasa proven to be supportive for all involved.

About Village Hospice

1001 NW Chipman Road, Lee's Summit, MO 64081, US

Mission Statement

Our mission at Village Hospice is to provide hospice care guided by dignity, compassion and grace that enhances the quality of life for our patients and families.

Village Hospice believes that each patient deserves to live each day to the fullest, and families deserve to be completely supported and informed. We care for patients with dignity, compassion, and grace. Village Hospice provides nursing care, respite care, bereavement support, music therapy, pet visits, and much more. Our professional team focuses on the entire well-being of the patients and their loved ones.

We are an open-access hospice and do not refuse admission based on the patient’s treatment choice. Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance covers most services. Since hospice care is based on need, a patient is never turned away due to a lack of insurance or funding.
