We are very excited to have a robust volunteer base that helps us at our twice-a-year Plant Exchange and fundraising events. We are now looking for someone with experience managing volunteers to help us develop an onboarding process. There is administrative help available to help implement the process once it has been created. We have about 150 active volunteers and want to get the systems in place early so that we can continue to grow. This process includes:
- developing a process for discovering their interests, skills, and availability
- identifying the materials required to get new volunteers onboard and up to speed
- properly matching them to a specific volunteer task

The Plant Exchange mission is to promote sustainable gardening practices, reduce landfill waste, educate people about environmental justice, and bring our community together over a common love of gardening. We seek to unite people of all ages and backgrounds and promote the personal health and community benefits that gardening provides.
Description
The Plant Exchange is a nonprofit environmental organization that has served Oakland and the Bay Area for over 15 years. As of 2023, we closed our warehouse and are operating pop-up sales and plant exchanges across the Bay Area where we have occasional volunteer opportunities
