You'll be the host/hostess at one historic building during your shift. Training will be provided. You'll also be partnered with an experienced quilter, or "White Glover", who will show the qulits to visitors and answer their quilting questions.

Dates/Time of exhibition- Monday Aug 7 to Friday Aug 18, 10 AM to 3 PM. Extended hours Thursday Aug 17. Open 12 - 4 PM on Sunday Aug 13.

Volunteers can choose between morning and afternoon shifts, 3 hours in length.

Description

The Troy Historical Society is a nonprofit organization with more than 40 years of success in preserving and presenting the history of our region. On July 1, 2011 the Troy Historical Society assumed responsibility for operation of the Troy Historic Village, where history lives. The Troy Historic Village includes ten historic buildings, surrounding a village green that is enhanced by gardens and mature trees. A tent and gazebo on the green provide areas for outdoor concerts, storytelling and reading aloud. There is ample space for picnics and traditional activities and games. Our historic buildings host concerts, lectures, discussions and meetings, as well as exhibits of arts and artifacts.

The Troy Historic Village is a destination for students, children, families and adults who live in or visit southeast Michigan.
