Communitiy gardens have been a much needed response against food insecurities across the world. Health in the Hood is happy to announce that we will be planting our New Overtown Garden! But we need your help!
Our Overtown Garden Installation Day is open to all ages! Come get your hands dirty on Saturday, May 27th from 9:30am-2pm at 163 NW 11th St Miami, FL 33136.
Lunch willl be provided but we suggest you bring extra water, sunscreen and/or a hat. Closed-toed shoes are a must.
$25 Target giftcard will be raffled off for local volunteers. Come take pictures with our special guest the Miami FC Soccer Mascot!
Community service hour verification available upon request.

Health in the Hood is a 501c3 organization that installs and maintains community gardens in disadvantaged neighborhoods throughout South Florida. The communities in which we work have little or no access to fresh fruits and vegetables, comprehensive health education or organized exercise programs. By providing community gardens and health education in low-income neighborhoods, we are putting children on the path to healthy futures, giving parents helpful information and creating environments that support healthy choices.
