One of the organizations in our network is in need of reliable transport driver team for long distance trips. Vehicle, crates, supplies & directions are provided.
What you must bring to the table:
- A truly compassionate love of dogs
- Be very comfortable with dogs
- Be very comfortable driving on interstate highways
- Have common sense
- Be willing to feed and clean up after dogs during the ride
- Be a non-smoker
- Have common sense
- Clean driving record
- Able to pass drug testing and background check
- Have common sense
- Able to read and write fluent English
- Able to keep track of paperwork and deliver matching paperwork with each dog transferred to our rescue partners
- Have common sense
- Ability to understand and utilize GPS
- Willingness to keep in touch with us and our rescue partners during the trip
- Have common sense
- A desire to keep the transport vehicle impeccably clean during the trip
- Ability to text from your smart phone
Couples welcome! We need a team of two to three people who can switch off driving to avoid driver fatigue.
This is for the Delta Humane Society which is based in Rayville, Louisiana (which is where the transports start). Round trips take 2-3 days, so this is a great match for retirees. This is not for the casual volunteer. We need reliable, upstanding citizens to help us save the lives of dogs in this very rural area. We do this through our transfer program which moves unwanted strays out to our screened rescue partners located between MD and New England. Drivers are our lifeline to those rescue partners.
DHS provides the veicle, crates, bedding, food, cleaning supplies, and gas money.

Mission Statement
The mission of A Reason To Believe Animal Rescue is to rescue homeless or neglected animals (including but not necessarily limited to dogs and cats), provide veterinary care, and get them placed them in great adoptive homes. All are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We house these animals in foster homes, kennels, or boarding as needed. We work in collaboration with shelters, veterinarians, rescues, owners needing to rehome their pets, and the public. We work to reduce the animal overpopulation issue by spaying and neutering as part of our process. We work to ensure the safety of the public by vaccinating according to the law and as the health of the animal permits based on the recommendations of our veterinarian. We treat for parasites, injuries, dentals, skin or ear infections. etc.

ARTBAR is a foster-based pet rescue located in rural southwestern West Virginia. We mostly rescue dogs but occasionally help other domestic pets. We are located near the star in our logo.
