Miss Glendale’s Outstanding Teen's Story of Hope: A Court Appointment Special Advocate Changed My Life
Miss Glendale's Outstanding Teen 2017, Dimon Sanders, knows the ups and downs of being in foster care; being bounced from place to place while seeing faces come and go. Over time, she learned to develop trust with the one 'constant’ in her life, the one who walked with her along the journey to finding hope and a permanent home-her CASA volunteer.
On Thursday, June 8, hear Ms. Sanders’ remarkable story of navigating the foster care system with the help of a CASA, a Court Appointed Special Advocate, and how you can be a voice for a child in foster care. Join Voices for CASA Children and CASA of Maricopa County for an evening of networking and a short informational presentation. Please feel free to join us for any part of the program if your time is limited.

They are appointed by the juvenile court judge and work alongside case managers, providers and the foster care system.
Advocates are empowered by the court and make critical recommendations to the judge.
The CASA will remain with the child until they are placed in a safe, permanent and loving home.
Voices for CASA Children (Voices) is a 501(c)(3) dedicated to supporting advocacy for abused and neglected children in Maricopa County. Voices raises funds and provides resources to enable CASA of Maricopa County to recruit, train and support a larger volunteer force of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) who bring a consistent presence and a voice to these children.
