Project need

Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center is seeking a skilled WordPress website developer to optimize user experience and website speed for those who need it the most - the Bay Area women and men seeking to create better lives for themselves and their families through small business ownership.

Renaissance has been building better communities for 30 years by helping bring thousands of small businesses to market, transforming the lives of their owners and creating sustainable jobs, economic vitality, and vibrant neighborhoods. Our clients tell us that it is difficult to find the information they are looking for on our website and to register for classes. The site is slow to load and the images need to be optimized.

Updating the user experience of our site will better help us connect to our clients and provide the services they need to start or grow their businesses. We have met with a marketing consultant who helped us create a hierarchy of information that will dictate the layout of the site and created an outline of changes that need to be made. This will include editing content from the WordPress dashboard and making minor structural changes in the code to modify the layout of the calendar and event listings where our upcoming classes are listed: http://www.rencenter.org/calendar/

We will provide written content, images, and a visual layout of the modifications that we need to be implemented.

In addition to the website development deliverables, we need to update our website user manual. The developer will edit our existing guide to include best practices for staff to use regarding sizing images, using tags and categories for posting classes and events, and anything else the developer finds would be useful.

We look forward to hearing from you! Please reply with a cover letter and resume to Genessa Kealoha at gkealoha@rencenter.org.
