Jackson Street Youth Services is hoping to find a community member who is interested in joining our team and supporting our Albany House (emergency youth shelter) by providing biweekly mowing and weeding. We already have a wonderful volunteer who is mowing and weeding every other week, and we are searching for someone who could help us mow the weeks he is not here.
We already have a gas-powered mower on site, and you would also be welcome to volunteer in other ways and get the youth involved. We also have two garden beds, and if you are interested, you can also check up on those when you are around.
Because of the nature of our shelter and the youth we serve, we would ask that you always call the house in the morning to let us know you will be stopping by that day--lots of communication is very helpful.
